'I did not have the imageless vision; I did not see forms whirl until they vanished in unmoving clarity, the being without substance of the Sufis. I did not drink the plenitude of the void .....I saw a blue sky and all the blues, from white to green, the spread fan of the poplars and on a pine, more air than bird, a black and white mynah. I saw the world resting on itself. I saw the appearances. And I named that half hour: The Perfection of the Finite.'
Sortee Bhai was born in Surat Pur, Gujrat, India, affectionately referred to by sufis as the 'capital of spiritual poverty'. Sortee Bhai called it the 'heart of the universe'. Sortee Bhai was descended from Sheykh Kamal Nakshbandi, one of the distinguished Sheykhs of the Khwaja Dana Sufi Order, over whose tomb the present sufi centre in Surat pur was built.
After completing the basic training of Sufi Path, he was transferred to Sindh Pakistan, where he took up residence in the small sufi centre in the downtown district of Shikarpur. Where he completed his Sufi Path and Awarded to teach others. His teachings have attracted a massive following from every race, ethos, creed and national origin, inspiring a way of loving-kindness and service to humankind according to the tenets of Sufism.
Sortee Bhai never distinguished people in terms of their worldly position or rank, treating all as equal in love and he attracted a wide association of eminent figures from around the world, who became his friends, remaining in regular communication.
Throughout his life Sortee Bhai wrote extensively on Islamic Sufism. Besides publication of his prolific writings, including biographies of the masters of the path and the principles of the Khawaj Dana Sufi Order.
Now he is living in Karachi Pakistan, and serving around the world with the Knowledge He is holding inside his spiritual circles.
